FALCONER Begins Recording New Album
November 24, 2010Guitarist Stefan Weinerhall of the Swedish metal band FALCONER has issued the following update:
"FALCONER has now begun the recording of [its new album] 'Armod' at Andy La Rocque's (KING DIAMOND) Sonic Train Studios [in Varberg, Sweden]. Karsten [Larsson; drums], who is the first one to be recorded, thinks this may be his best session ever. The vibe is really awesome!"
According to Weinerhall, "Armod" "will be completely sung in Swedish except for the bonus tracks that will simply be English versions of the best (according to us) new songs." He added, ""This time we have concentrated on the traditional folk side of our music including more traditional folk songs (the majority of the material is still our own),more fiddles and flutes.
"This is a way to finally devoting an entire album to the influences and getting that out of our system, so to speak, and to do the thing some have asked for during ten years. This is not the new direction of us but just the sound of THIS album."
"Carnival Of Disgust", the latest video from FALCONER, can be viewed below. The clip, which was shot at the medieval Vadstena castle on a windy and cold April day, "exceeds [all] expectations," according to a press release. The song comes off the band's most recent album, "Among Beggars And Thieves", which was released in August 2008 via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded at Andy La Rocque's (KING DIAMOND) Sonic Train Studio in Varberg, Sweden. 13 songs were mixed during the sessions, including two bonus tracks for the LP's first edition.
FALCONER in 2007 extended its deal with Metal Blade for another four albums.
