October 23, 2013

According to a Facebook post by reformed Chicago death metallers BROKEN HOPE, a fan got his throat cut with a box cutter during the band's set last night at Tricky Falls in El Paso, Texas.

BROKEN HOPE guitarist Jeremy Wagner told Metal Insider: "I have learned that during our set, that there were a few victims who were cut by the same assailant (wielding a box-cutter). One victim was cut across his throat. Thankfully — by some miracle — paramedics arrived within minutes and tended to the victims wound and saved his life. The assailant was subdued and arrested by the police. Crazy shit, guys. I'm glad the victims are going to survive."

BROKEN HOPE is currently supporting DEICIDE on the "No Salvation Tour 2013". Also appearing on the bill are DISGORGE and NECRONOMICON.

BROKEN HOPE's sixth album, "Omen Of Disease", sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. Issued on October 1 (September 30 internationally) via Century Media Records, the CD's drum tracks were laid down at Belle City Sound in Racine, Wisconsin with engineer Chris Wisco (LAZARUS A.D., JUNGLE ROT, ORIGIN, GORGASM),while the remaining instruments were tracked at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, Illinois with engineer Scott Creekmore (DIRGE WITHIN, PUTRID PILE, LIVIDITY).
