Father Of Missing METALLICA Fan Thinks Girl In Video Looks Similar To His Daughter

October 27, 2009

Lindsey Henley of WSLS 10 reports that Virginia state police say they are looking into YouTube video postings that show a girl who some think looks like Morgan Harrington, the 20-year-old Virginia Tech student who hasn't been seen since METALLICA's October 17 gig in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Harrington's father says the girl in it does look similar to his daughter.

"It looks like it could be Morgan," Dan Harrington said. "It's fairly far away, and [there are] lots of moving images. The one thing that doesn't go with it is the fact that Morgan left [home] with tights on."

"I just can't remember the timelines of where things are as to when [METALLICA] took the stage and whether Morgan was still in the building or out of the building, or could she have gotten back in the building? I don't know."

Police say they are checking into the video. It is one of the many tips state police get every day.

State police say there is a $100,000 reward that does not include any donation from METALLICA. They say the band's contribution is still being worked out through Crime Stoppers.

If you have any information, you're asked to pleas call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000 or the Virginia State Police at 434-352-3467 or University of Virginia Police at 434-924-7166 with information about Morgan Harrington.
