FEAR FACTORY Guitarist: DAVE MUSTAINE 'Has Always Been Good To Me'

August 26, 2005

FEAR FACTORY guitarist Christian Olde Wolbers recently spoke to the Boston Herald about the group's participation in this year's Gigantour, a six-week trek co-headlined by MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:

On DREAM THEATER's co-headlining stint at Gigantour:

"There's 3,000 fans in front of us slamming and then they come on and it's . . . different. They're a little too awkward.

"There's more for fans to get crazy about with a band like FEAR FACTORY than DREAM THEATER. When kids come to these shows they want to slam and headbang and go crazy. They don't want to sit and watch the latest guitar scale."

On MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine:

"He's just Dave Mustaine. People talk, 'He's this, he's that. He's bitter, he's a (jerk).' I've heard it all. But I don't judge people by what other people tell me. He's always been good to me."

On the new FEAR FACTORY album, "Transgression":

"It's definitely FEAR FACTORY, but it's a little different. But it's a good different for FEAR FACTORY."
