FEAR FACTORY To Sign New Record Deal, Album Due In Early 2004
July 31, 2003The reformed FEAR FACTORY — now consisting of Christian Olde Wolbers (guitar/bass),Raymond Herrera (drums),and Burton C. Bell (vocals) — are strongly rumored to be on the verge of signing a new record deal with the Los Angeles-based D3 Entertainment (INSANE CLOWN POSSE, OL' DIRTY BASTARD, and MACK 10 offshoot group DA HOOD),BLABBERMOUTH.NET can exclusively reveal. The group are expected to enter the studio in late summer/early fall to begin recording the follow-up to 2001's "Digimortal", tentatively due in early 2004. Among the tracks set to appear on the as-yet-untitled effort are the four songs demoed last year prior to the band's split with Roadrunner Records: "Slave Labor", "Corporate Cloning", "Archetype", and "Bite The Hand That Feeds".
FEAR FACTORY unceremoniously split in early March 2002 after announcing the departure of Bell, whose personality clashes with guitarist and founding member Dino Cazares proved to be too much for the frontman to handle, eventually forcing him to leave the group. Subsequent interviews with Cazares and Herrera (Interview#1, Interview#2) revealed deep-rooted differences between the other members and Dino, who has since announced plans to launch an as-yet-unnamed new project with ex-LIQUID GANG singer Jose Maldonado and DEVOLVED drummer John Sankey.
