Finnish DIMEBAG DARRELL Tribute Concert: More Details Revealed

January 9, 2005

Finnish melodic thrashers HEVEIN have revealed more information about the upcoming "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) tribute concert that is scheduled to be held January 15 at VR Makasiinit in Helsinki. According to a posting on HEVEIN's web site, at least 25 classic PANTERA songs will be played in memory of Dimebag by dozens of Finnish musicians.

"PANTERA has always been a great source of inspiration for HEVEIN and for some of us the sole reason for starting to play an instrument," the posting adds.

"We will pay our respects by participating in the tribute concert with two songs, 'Use My Third Arm' and 'Walk' with Tony Jelencovich of TRANSPORT LEAGUE on the vocals [for] 'Walk'.

"This gig is a must for anyone who is a fan of PANTERA and Dimebag. And with the profits going to charity it's for a good cause. Tickets (6 euros) from www.tiketti.fi."

As previously reported, the show will feature openers CR (ex-CONDITION RED) (at 9:30 p.m.) and THE SCOURGER (at 10:30 p.m.),followed by the PANTERA tribute band DIMEN NIMEEN! ("In Dime's Name!") beginning at 11:30 p.m.
