FINNTROLL To Enter Studio In September
June 27, 2006Finland's FINNTROLL are scheduled to enter the studio in late September to begin recording the follow-up to 2004's "Nattfödd", tentatively due in early 2007. The upcoming CD will mark the band's first release with new singer Vreth, who replaced previous frontman Tapio Wilska (SETHIAN, ex-WIZZARD, former session vocalist for NIGHTWISH) this past spring.
As previously reported, a number of photos of FINNTROLL performing with Vreth at the Sauna Open Air festival in Tampere, Finland on June 9 and the Rock Hard Fesival in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on June 4 have been posted online. Check them out: Sauna, Rock Hard.
FINNTROLL parted ways with Wilska in January after "reach[ing] a situation in which we [found] it impossible to continue FINNTROLL" with their previous vocalist, according to a statement issued by the group a short time after the split.
FINNTROLL in January completed a short North American tour with German thrashers SODOM. The band's next live appearance is scheduled for July 8 at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland.
