FIREWIND Frontman Bows Out Of Japanese Tour, Ex-AVALON Singer Steps In
January 7, 2004FIREWIND, the Greek/American melodic metal band led by DREAM EVIL guitarist Gus G., will be utilizing singer Chity Somapala (ex-AVALON, FARO) on their upcoming tour of Japan after regular vocalist Stephen Fredrick (ex-KENZINER) was forced to bow out of the trek due to "pressing personal reasons." "Chity is an incredibly gifted singer and musician, as well as a very nice person," the band write in an official statement. "We feel that Chity is the perfect replacement and you can be sure that we'll put on a great show for our crazy Japanese fans!!!!"
FIREWIND recently issued their second album, "Burning Earth", through Leviathan Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Between Heaven and Hell" was recorded at Leviathan, A29 and Mediamaker studios in the USA, Greece and Norway between April and June 2003 and was produced by David T. Chastain and Gus G. Mixing duties were handled by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden.
