FLAMETAL: Entire New Album Available For Streaming
January 24, 2008Hotly tipped San Francisco-based flamenco/metal hybrid band FLAMETAL, whose 2005-2007 touring lineup included current WHITESNAKE bassist Uriah Duffy, has made its second release, "Master of the Aire", available for streaming in its entirety. The CD, which is currently on sale at all major music stores in Japan via Powerslave Records and will be available soon through CDbaby.com and iTunes, can be heard using the player below.
FLAMETAL leader Benjamin Woods previously stated: "We try and pay respect to flamenco and make it as metal as possible. Since half our group are authentic flamenco performers, our music was the first metal to follow the rhythms and tonalities found in flamenco that are so rich and vast. I am pleased to see others experimenting with these styles, such as my buddy Marc Rizzo [of SOULFLY] (incredible talent),IMPUREZA, BREED 77, RAZA DE ODIO, and I'm sure there will be more. The influence of flamenco on metal should be a lot more than just playing a Spanish guitar in a metal song — it takes years and years of dilegent dedication and study. We hope to expose the audience to something different. It's definately not for everyone, and that's fine."
