FLAW Frontman To Release Solo Album In The Fall
February 28, 2007Chris Volz of FLAW and the recently disbanded FIVE.BOLT.MAIN is currently recording his debut solo album, to be released this fall on Rock Ridge Music. Manning the production side of things are a team including Matt Chiaravalle (KITTIE, CROSSBREED, WARREN ZEVON) and Rock Ridge Music principals.
Says Rock Ridge Music principal Jason Spiewak of the recording process: "Working with Volz has been awesome. The songs that he's working on are deeply personal. The music and lyrics speak about his life, his experiences, his connection to music."
Volz himself is very excited about the new material. "We've got a great team working on the record, and it's giving me a chance to fully express myself in a solo capacity," he says. "I've put a lot of time and effort into the material for this album, and it's based on stuff I've worked on for years. The songs are somewhat of a growth process for me as an artist, but I'm looking forward to finishing it and getting it out there for people to hear it."
Volz plans to tour in support of the album later this year, but in the meantime, he has lined up a handful of shows with FLAW, with whom he'll be hitting the Midwest in March.
