FLYLEAF Gets Personal On 'Fully Alive'
August 28, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: FLYLEAF's second single, "Fully Alive", is a very personal song for lead singer Lacey Mosley. Although she wouldn't go into detail, Mosley told Launch that the tune is about a close friend's longtime battle against illness. "It's about the singer for TRUST COMPANY, Kevin (Palmer),his wife Layla," she said. "She's an awesome person, and you would never guess in a million years that she has the struggle that she has. Kinda changed my perspective about the way that I complain about things, the way that I wake up sad for no reason, and then she wakes up just glad to wake up."
Although TRUST COMPANY broke up earlier this year, Kevin and Layla Palmer currently play in a band called AMITY LANE.
FLYLEAF's self-titled debut album, which came out last September, sits at No. 74 on The Billboard 200, with total sales of more than 346,000 copies.
The Texas-based band is currently on the Family Values Tour with KORN, DEFTONES, 10 YEARS and others, which stops tonight (Monday, August 28) in Toronto, Canada.
