Former ACCEPT/BANGALORE CHOIR Frontman Discusses REECE Debut
September 5, 2009MetalMonthly.com recently conducted an interview with former ACCEPT/BANGALORE CHOIR and current REECE/GYPSY ROSE frontman David Reece. The chat is now available for streaming at this location.
REECE released its debut album, "Universal Language", on August 28 via Metal Heaven. The CD was produced by Andy Susemihl (U.D.O.) and features Jochen Funders from HOLY MOSES on bass, and Stefan Schwarzmann (ACCEPT, HELLOWEEN, KROKUS, RUNNING WILD, U.D.O.) on drums.
According to a press release, "This record is truly an expression of [Reece's] life's journey, a melodic hard rock album full of big choruses, strong grooves, showcasing past, present and future.
"Reece started writing and recording this record in late 2008 with Andy Susemihl and from the beginning he realized, that Andy understood his vision musically as well as lyrically. After writing such tracks as 'Before I Die', 'Fantasy Man' and 'Flesh and Blood', he knew he was on the right track. Andy is also a world-class producer who will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with.
"While writing this record, Andy introduced David to Jochen Fünders, and after hearing his melodic style, David knew he was a perfect fit. When searching for a drummer, the obvious choice for David was Stefan Schwarzmann! He has known this super talent for a long time and when David asked him to do his record, Stefan hungrily agreed!"

After several years under the radar on a ranch in Montana, Reece was contacted by Escape Records in 2007 to see what the chances would be for him to go to Sweden to sing on Swedish band GYPSY ROSE's next release. Soon after that David found himself in the studio for the next year recording and writing for the new GYPSY ROSE CD, "Another World", which was released in June 2008.
