Former ANGELLIC RAGE Singer Murdered: Surveillance Video Released

July 10, 2008

Surveillance video has been released (see below) of the murder of Paul Stitt (a.k.a. Paul Vee),the former lead singer for the 1990s Denver, Colorado-based metal band ANGELLIC RAGE (MySpace page). Stitt was shot and killed in Las Vegas during a liquor store robbery Tuesday night (July 8),according to KLAS-TV.

According to KVBC.com, Stitt was found dead behind the counter at the Liquor Outlet on Washington and Nellis Tuesday night around 9:15 p.m. Police are now on the hunt for his killer.

Police say that two African-American men were seen running away from the store, hopping over a wall and getting into a dark-colored Crown Victoria. The men were not wearing disguises.

Police are still trying to determine if anything was stolen from the store. "When two individuals, or one individual, or however many suspects enter a business armed, confront a clerk, shoot and kill the clerk, the intention is robbery," says Lt. Lew Roberts, Metro Police. "It's a liquor store, there's no other reason to go in there and kill somebody other than to try and get something out of there, cash or whatever."

A man who has identified himself to police as the victim's half-brother, Paul Smith, says his brother was working alone Tuesday night and had only been working at the liquor store for eight months. Paul Stitt often told his brother that working at the liquor store at night by himself made him nervous.

Paul Vee leaves behind his two dogs, his brother, and his mother, who lives out of state.
