Former ANTHRAX Guitarist DAN SPITZ Talks RED LAMB, Working With DAVE MUSTAINE (Video)
March 18, 2013Robb Chavez of "Robb's MetalWorks" conducted an interview with former ANTHRAX and current RED LAMB guitarist Dan Spitz on March 9 at Spinners Bar in Austin, Texas. You can now watch the chat below.
RED LAMB has signed with the Hillman Entertainment Solutions booking agency for the remainder of the "Anarchy For Autism" tour on an exclusive basis, effective March 16.
"We have worked with Danny Hillman of Hillman Entertainment Solutions in the past and are impressed with his work and professionalism," states Spitz. "Additionally, he shares our passion for the fight against autism and believes 100% in what we are trying to accomplish. No other booking agency or agent has rights to negotiate or contract shows on RED LAMB's behalf other than Hillman Entertainment Solutions."
RED LAMB's management is now being handled by Mark Warner of Nashville-based Mind's I Entertainment. "It made absolutely no sense to not have booking consolidated on this tour," says Spitz. "There were several people trying to book and contract the same shows, which only created confusion and questions in the marketplace. On behalf of RED LAMB, we sincerely apologize for the problems this has created. Effective immediately, all inquiries should be directed to Mind's I Entertainment and Hillman Entertainment Solutions."
RED LAMB's "Anarchy For Autism" tour is increasing awareness concerning autism, a condition affecting 1 in 88 children (1 in 54 boys) born, including Dan's identical twin boys.
RED LAMB's self-titled debut album was released in February 2012 via iTunes. The 12-song effort was co-produced by Dave Mustaine (MEGADETH) and Spitz and is described in a press release as "explosive hard rock, pop punk, alternative rock, with a taste of thrash." The CD was mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Johnny K (DISTURBED, 3 DOORS DOWN, DROWNING POOL, MEGADETH) and it features cover artwork by John Lorenzi, who worked on the last three MEGADETH studio albums — 2007's "United Abominations", 2009's "Endgame" and 2011's "TH1RT3EN" — as well as the band's 2007 box set, "Warchest". Grammy Award winner Chris Vrenna (NINE INCH NAILS, MARILYN MANSON) handled all synths and additional programming on the entire CD.
RED LAMB features Spitz (lead guitar, guitar, bass guitar, programming, background vocals, engineering, co-producer) and Don Chaffin (vocals and video productions).
Spitz is a born-again Christian and Messianic Jew who, in interviews, has frequently cited his faith as an influential component to his life.
Spitz took part in the reunion of ANTHRAX's classic lineup in 2005 and 2006 but left the band after ANTHRAX's last split with singer Joey Belladonna.
