Former BUCKCHERRY Singer Completes Work On Solo Album

April 26, 2003

Former BUCKCHERRY singer Josh Todd has completed work on his debut solo album, titled "You Made Me". The CD, which took three months to complete, was recorded in Los Angeles with Chris Johnson producing and Rob Chiarelli mixing.

The complete track listing for "You Made Me" is as follows:

01. Afraid
02. Blast
03. Broken
04. Burn
05. Catastrophe
06. Circles
07. Collide
08. Flowers And Cages
09. Lovely Bones
10. Mind Infection
11. Shine
12. Slave
13. Strait Jacket
14. Wasted
15. Walls

Todd teamed with a group of unknown musicians for the project, which he described to Rolling Stone recently as "new school meets old school," and is currently considering whether to shop it to labels or take it to the public through alternate means.

When putting the solo project together, the vocalist reportedly answered a classified advertisement in a Los Angeles music magazine placed by unknown musicians in search of a frontman. The ad cited the DEFTONES and AT THE DRIVE-IN as influences, bands that appealed to Todd as he looked to move beyond the gritty Sunset Strip rock of BUCKCHERRY. "I just said I was Josh, a singer, and I'd like to check it out," Todd told Rolling Stone. "And they were like, 'OK, man, but we don't want anybody who's not dedicated.' And I was like, 'OK . . .'"

"I love these guys and I don't care that they're no-name guys," Todd said of his new bandmates. "It's really hard to get a group of guys who've had enormous careers in a room and get anything accomplished. [This] was so effortless and so much fun. That's where the creativity comes in, and that's where you make great records."
