Former DRAIN STH Bassist Joins OPIATE FOR THE MASSES
February 4, 2008Former DRAIN STH bassist Anna K. (full name: Anna Kjellberg) has joined the Los Angeles-based rock/metal band OPIATE FOR THE MASSES. "Together with Jimmy Kaufman, Ronny Underwood and Seven Antonopoulos, I have spent the last half of 2007 finishing up the new album, 'Manifesto', to be released early this summer by Century Media Records," says Anna. "The album is produced by Ulrich Wild and John Travis. We're spending all our time in our rehearsal space now, and plan to start doing shows in March, and hit the road for some serious touring around May. More info will be revealed as we go, but in the meantime, check out the song 'Dead Underground' from the upcoming album; that song is also available on the 'Saw III' soundtrack."

DRAIN STH's final album, 1999's "Freaks of Nature", was noted for the inclusion of the track "Black", co-written by and featuring lead guitar from BLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi (who has been romantically involved with DRAIN STH's ex-singer Maria Sjöholm for most of the past decade although it remains unclear if the pair ever officially married).
