Former ELEGY Frontman Continues Work On New Solo Album

July 16, 2005

According to a posting on former ELEGY frontman Ian Parry's official web site, Parry has just finished recording drum tracks for three new songs with the former WITHIN TEMPTATION drummer Ivar de Graaf at the Braineye studios in Veeningen Holland, owned by bassist/engineer Marcel van der Zwam. The style is more modern metal and also includes extra performances from Marcel (Ian's former solo bassist). Ian has also introduced newcomer metal guitarist Alfred (The Beast) van der Zwam, who has recorded additional guitars on a number of songs from "Visions".

As extra support Ian asked his former ELEGY colleague Joshua Dutrieux (who works together in a songwriting duo with Chris de Rooij from "Openeyesmusic") to co-write two powerful melodic metal tracks.

These songs feature performances from a number of female vocalists alongside Ian.

As Ian says, "The new solo CD, 'Visions', has taken a very modern direction. Metal with a touch of melodic mayhem."

Ian is in negotiations with a number of interested labels in Europe and Japan and hopes to have a release later this year.
