Former GREAT WHITE Tour Manager Applies For Work-Release Program

May 19, 2006

According to The Associated Press, former GREAT WHITE tour manager Daniel Biechele, who was sentenced to jail for igniting a nightclub fire that killed 100 people, has applied for a work-release program.

A judge sentenced Biechele last week to four years in prison for starting a deadly blaze at The Station nightclub in West Warwick in 2003. Biechele's lawyer, Thomas Briody, says Biechele has found a job as a bookkeeper.

The attorney says Biechele is a first-time offender who should be able to participate in a work-release program. Prisoners in the work-release system generally work during the day and return to a minimum-security prison when they're done.

The motion filed by Biechele's lawyer doesn't say where Biechele would work.
