January 31, 2006The Assoociated Press is reporting that the former manager of the hard rock band GREAT WHITE has reached a plea agreement on charges tied to the 2003 nightclub fire that killed 100 people, the judge in the case said Tuesday.
Superior Court Judge Francis Darigan said Dan Biechele is willing to plead to "certain counts" of the indictment. It was not clear what charges he would plead to, or when.
Biechele is charged with 200 counts of involuntary manslaughter for setting the blaze that began when he ignited pyrotechnics during a GREAT WHITE performance at The Station nightclub in West Warwick.
John "Terry" MacFadyen, a lawyer for Biechele, would not comment. The judge scheduled an announcement for 2 p.m.
Brothers Jeffrey and Michael Derderian, who owned the club, were also charged with 200 counts each of involuntary manslaughter.
Jeff Pine, the attorney for Jeff Derderian, would not comment, and said he did not know details of the plea agreement.
