Former GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist To Appear On PETER TOSH Tribute Album

July 16, 2003

Former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash is among the artists slated to appear on a tribute album honoring the late reggae legend Peter Tosh. Tosh, a founding member of THE WAILERS (later BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS),who also won a Grammy for his album "No Nuclear War", was killed during a robbery in his home in Kingston, Jamaica in 1987. Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia, Ben Harper, CYPRESS HILL, Jimmie Vaughan and Tosh's son, Andrew, are some of the other artists confirmed to appear on the tribute album. Profits from the recording will go to build a medical clinic, library, the Peter Tosh Museum in Jamaica and the "Instruments For The Youth" program, which provides instruments to needy children. Sponsors and donations are needed to raise the additional $150,000 needed to complete the album. For more info, click here.
