Former HELLOWEEN Drummer Comments On Departure

February 17, 2003

Former HELLOWEEN drummer Mark Cross has issued an official statement confirming his departure from the group (as first reported here last week).

The statement reads as follows:

"After being ill the past few months, it looks like I will no longer remain in HELLOWEEN.

"Past September, a few days after I started the drum recordings, I ended up in a Medical Center and was no longer able to complete the new HELLOWEEN album. I gave it two more tries after several weeks, but all my energy and power was gone. Bad luck it is, there are only 2 songs I played on the new album [which carries the working title, 'Rabbits Don't Come Easy'—ed.], the rest I passed to Mikkey Dee [MOTÖRHEAD]. I needed several months to recover, but the risk for HELLOWEEN was too high and they decided to replace me with someone else in the future. I'm sad, but I have to look forward and stand tall to keep this train rolling.

"I'm back in the studio banging the tubs and am very happy to say that it feels good and I will soon be back in shape 100% looking for new horizons!

"Bottoms up...

"Greets, Mark Cross"
