Former IRON MAIDEN vocalist Paul Di'Anno was in Pune, India recently playing at a concert to warn kids against the use of drugs, according to Metal Hammer.
"Celebrities are often used to endorse products so we thought it was a good idea to ask a celebrity to do it. I contacted Neil [Di'Anno's manager] who is also a friend and he suggested Paul Di'Anno," said Michael, of the Fight Against Narcotics, "Paul himself was a little sceptical, as has been associated with drug abuse in a big way and gave up barely five years back. But we insisted that he was the best person to do it," he added.
While in India, Di'Anno was also offered a role in an upcoming Bollywood movie! "Yes, I have been offered a role by Akbar to play a role in his Bollywood film and I'll probably play a gangster in the film," said Paul.
In other news, Di'Anno, will be meeting fans and signing his autobiography at the Glasgow Music Fair on Saturday, Feb. 8. This all takes place at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
