Former IRONFIRE Members Bounce Back With BLINDED BY FEAR

February 4, 2004

BLINDED BY FEAR, the new Danish band featuring former members of IRONFIRE, have launched their official web site at this location.

The group, whose lineup consists of vocalist Niels Toft (ex-MORFEUS),guitarist Jose Cruz (ex-IRONFIRE, #213),guitarist Jeff Lukka, bassist Jakob Lundgaard Lykkebo (ex-IRONFIRE),and drummer Steve Mason (ex-IRONFIRE),have posted eight sound clips and one full song recorded live in their rehearsal hall. "Unfortunately, at the time of recording, no or not enough lyrics were ready, so all of the clips are 'instrumental' — alas no vocals," the band write on their web site. Check out the tunes here.

IRONFIRE, who issued two full-length albums through the Sanctuary/Noise label, split up in September 2003 "due to overwhelming musical differences," according to the group's official statement at the time. Vocalist Martin Steene has since spent much of his time focusing on FORCE OF EVIL, the Danish "all-star" band featuring guitarist Michael Denner (ex-MERCYFUL FATE),guitarist Hank Shermann (MERCYFUL FATE),bassist Hal Patino (KING DIAMOND),and drummer Bjarne Holm (MERCYFUL FATE).
