Former LAST CRACK Singer Named 'Best Male Vocalist'

Former LAST CRACK vocalist Shawn Brown was named the first Madison Area Music Awards "Best Male Vocalist" during the March 28 ceremony at the Orpheum Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition, Brown's band DRIVER 13 (web site) were honored in the "Best Metal Album" category for their "Until the End of Time" release.

The first annual Madison Area Music Awards doled out more than 40 awards to local musicians in all kinds of genres, as well as raising money for music programs in local schools, according to Madison.com.

A half-hour edited broadcast of the ceremony will be shown on WHPN Channel 14 on Saturday, April 24, and a longer broadcast special and DVD release are also in the works.
