Former MARDUK Frontman To Launch German Festival

Former MARDUK frontman Legion (a.k.a. Erik Hagsted) and his wife Irina will be launching their own festival next summer in southern Germany (July 6-7, 2007). An official web site for the festival, www.stairwaytohell.de, will go live shortly. "We're already in booking progress," says Erik. "First confirmed bands will be announced shortly. Be ready for some surprises. We also have decided to give two unknown bands the chance to present themselves. They'll get to open the little stage (30 minutes)."

Legion and ex-MARDUK bassist B.War (a.k.a. Roger "Bogge" Svensson) are currently collaborating in a Los Angeles-based band called REBELANGELS, also featuring rhythm guitarist Jimmy Larsen, lead guitarist Jonas Mattson and drummer Emil Dragutinovic (MARDUK, THE LEGION).
