Former MARDUK Members Launch 'Dark, Heavy Rock Band' REBELANGELS

February 17, 2005

Former MARDUK members Legion (a.k.a. Erik Hagsted, vocals) and B.War (bass) have launched a brand new California-based project called REBELANGELS. In a statement sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, the duo write, "Since we (Legion & B.War) left MARDUK, we chose not to comment on the matter. But as we now start our new band here's our story:

"We both quit the band regardless of what rumours have been floating around! It was based on years of struggling in a downward spiral of the band, being very dysfunctional, and after the 'Panzer Division Marduk' album [1999], we felt that we had nothing left to say. In addition, the black metal scene did not excite us like it did earlier.

"Anyway, now we are reborn as the REBELANGELS, which is a dark, heavy rock band with big heavy riffing and normal, raw vocals.

"We are currently searching for two guitarists and a drummer to complete the line-up. Please check out our homepage at www.rebelangels.org for further information."
