Former MEGADETH/BLACK LABEL SOCIETY Bassist To Compete On 'The Amazing Race'

August 29, 2012

Veteran hard rock bassist James Lomenzo (MEGADETH, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DIO DISCIPLES, WHITE LION, HAIL!) is set to compete in the new season of "The Amazing Race", premiering on Sunday, September 30 at 8 p.m. EST.

The 11 teams hoping to win a grand prize of up to $2 million were announced by CBS today.

Lomenzo, 53, will compete with teammateMark "Abba" Abbattista, 45, a friend, entertainment lawyer and HAIL! manager.

When asked what the biggest challenge was that he and his teammate will face on the "Race", Lomenzo responded, "I don't think we will have too many challenges. We work pretty well together."

While the prize money remains at $1 million, if the team which wins the first leg end up as victors of the entire competition, they will double the prize and receive $2 million.

"The Amazing Race" is an eight-time Emmy Award-winning reality series hosted by Emmy Award-nominated host Phil Keoghan, which pits 11 teams, each comprised of two members, against each other on a trek around the world for approximately 25 days. At every destination, each team must compete in a series of challenges, some mental and some physical, and only when the tasks are completed will they learn of their next location. Teams who are the farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the contest progresses, with the first team to arrive at the final destination winning $1 million.
