Former MEGADETH Guitarist JEFF YOUNG To Guest On HYDROGYN Singer's Solo CD

February 25, 2010

A sample of a track from HYDROGYN singer Julie Westlake's upcoming solo album, a cover version of the GUNS N' ROSES classic "Sweet Child O' Mine", is available for streaming at this location. The song features HYDROGYN members Jeff Westlake on the Taylor steel-sting guitar and Jeff Young (ex-MEGADETH) on a Martin steel-string.

HYDROGYN is currently locked away in an undisclosed location in the snowy hills of Kentucky on a songwriting sabbatical working on its new album, "Judgement", to be released later this year. New to the fold is Jeff Young who brings his renowned shredding virtuosity as evident on the classic and fan favorite MEGADETH album "So Far, So Good… So What!" (Capitol Records, 1988). Jeff joins members Julie Westlake (vocals),Jeff Westlake (guitars),and New York-based KHZ drummer Joe Migz. Together, they plan to take HYDROGYN on a full-on global assault in 2010.

Sharing bass tracks on the album will be fretless six-string bass wonder Jake Wolf and surprise new addition, powerhouse bassist James Lomenzo, best known for his acclaimed work in WHITE LION, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and, most recently, MEGADETH. James will be making an appearance on a few selected songs, and is currently laying down bass tracks for the first single, "The Right Thing Now".

HYDROGYN is in the midst of tracking and writing for the self-produced album with the aim for a summer release. The first single, "The Right Thing Now", will be mixed with famed producer Michael Wagener (SKID ROW, METALLICA, EXTREME) during the last week of April.

You can hear HYDROGYN's cover version of the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP classic "Assault Attack" on HYDROGYN's official MySpace page.
