Former MEGADETH Guitarist Performs With RAVEN In Tokyo; Photos Available

June 15, 2009

Japanese hardcore metal fans got a huge surprise when former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman took the stage with legendary NWOBHM band RAVEN in Tokyo on June 11. He joined them during the encore for RAVEN staples "Don't Need Your Money" and "For The Future".

RAVEN has been cited several times by Marty as a major influence, especially during his teenage years.

Several photos of this special one-off collaboration can be viewed below (pictures by Yuki Kuroyanagi).

RAVEN released its new album, "Walk Through Fire", on March 25 in Japan through King Records. The CD was recorded at the Assembly Line Studios with engineer/mixer Kevin 131 (PROJECT: FAILING FLESH, DECEASED, DYSRYTHMIA, GARDEN OF SHADOWS).

RAVEN vocalist/bassist John Gallagher previously stated about the new CD, "It's the right combination of spontaneous lunacy captured with the sounds we've always wanted."
