Glen Drover will join forces this summer with ADAGIO's Stphan Fort to record an instrumental album. The CD will contain a total of 10 songs, featuring a different "special guest" guitarist for each song. Songwriting and recording will commence shortly.
Says Drover: "There is no timeline as to when the musical project I am going to do with Stphan Fort. We are doing this record purely from a musical expression standpoint, thus with no deadline (imagine that). All we do know at this point of the game is that it is certainly going to be fun, and for this project, that is all that matters to me."
So far the following guitarists have agreed to make guest appearances on the record:
Vinnie Moore (UFO)
Gus G (FIREWIND)
Jorn Viggo (PAGAN'S MIND)
Jeff Waters (ANNIHILATOR)
Chris Caffery (SAVATAGE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA)
Chris Poland (OHM:)
Ron Jarzombek (WATCHTOWER)
Jeff Young (MEGADETH)
Slav Simanic (EIDOLON)
Says Drover: "Stphan and myself are talking to a few other players, so there will be updates on this as soon as they confirm... Believe me, a few people I am trying to confirm are some of my favorite players (as is with those so that already did confirm),so this is going to be a great project for myself and Stphan.
"We are doing this for no other reason than we want to, as we have a total 'carte blanche' as to what style of music we are going to take, we only know at this point that there will be a ton of guitars on it."
Glen Drover recently released his first piece of music since leaving MEGADETH. Glen wrote the intro for "The Metal Madman" radio show, and you can hear the riff-master's work over at the program's official MySpace page.
Glen is expected to make a guest appearance on the instrumental track "Schizophrenia" on the forthcoming solo album from guitarist Chris Caffery (SAVATAGE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA). Other guest musicians slated to appear on the song include NEVERMORE's Jeff Loomis and TESTAMENT's Alex Skolnick.
Video footage of Glen Drover playing the MEGADETH tracks "Tornado of Souls" and "Dawn Patrol" and talking about his Dean guitar on February 13, 2008 at the Metal Works Institute in Ontario, Canada can be viewed below (courtesy of "An3sh").
Glen Drover left MEGADETH at the end of last year and was replaced by Chris Broderick, who has previously played with NEVERMORE and JAG PANZER.
