Former MEGADETH Members Have Learned 'To Allow Everybody To Create And To Be Their Own Individual'

June 21, 2016

Yell! Magazine recently conducted an interview with former MEGADETH and current ACT OF DEFIANCE members Chris Broderick (guitar) and Shawn Drover (drums). You can now watch the chat below.

Drover quit MEGADETH in November 2014 "to pursue [his] own musical interests." Broderick announced his departure from MEGADETH a few hours later, saying that he was exiting the group "due to artistic and musical differences." The duo has since launched ACT OF DEFIANCE with ex-SCAR THE MARTYR singer Henry Derek Bonner and bassist Matt Bachand (SHADOWS FALL).

Asked what they have learned from their time in MEGADETH that they have incorporated into ACT OF DEFIANCE, Chris said: "I think one of the things that we've learned is to allow everybody to create and to be their own individual. This band… With the people that we've assembled, this band… If Matt wanted to put a frog noise in the next CD and he thought it was pertinent, we'd let him, because this band isn't about trying to make some big pop song; it's about us and our creative freedom."

ACT OF DEFIANCE's debut album, "Birth And The Burial", was released last August via Metal Blade Records.
