Former MELDRUM Singer To Open For VAINS OF JENNA In Stockholm

February 25, 2009

Former MELDRUM frontwoman Moa Holmsten will play an acoustic set tonight (Wednesday, February 25) at Debaser Slussen in Stockholm, Sweden. According to Moa, she will be "scaring the shit out of all the rockers with our saxophone and our newly pimped out nylon stringed guitar." Also scheduled to appear are VAINS OF JENNA and BABYLON BOMBS.

Moa announced her departure from MELDRUM early last year, explaning that she "lost the fire, the dedication and the joy. My heart was not in it anymore. A heart, the only heart, I had to be honest to or I couldn't live with myself."

Moa's former MELDRUM bandmate and group leader, guitarist Michelle Meldrum, passed away on May 21, 2008 as a result of a cystic growth on her brain that had restricted oxygen and blood flow to her brain, rendering her braindead.

Michelle had just completed writing and recording MELDRUM's soon-to-be-released third album with drummer Gene Hoglan, along with the group's latest additions, Michele Madden (vocals) and Laura Christine (bass). The surviving bandmembers plan to release the CD in tribute to their fallen bandmate.
