Former MELDRUM Singer To Release Full-Length Solo Album
August 19, 2009Former MELDRUM frontwoman Moa Holmsten will release her full-length solo debut, "Do You Want Me Death?", in October via the U.S.-based record label Fill In The Blank Records. According to Moa, Fill In The Blank is run by "two extraordinary people who still believe in real music and an artist's creative freedom, something I cherish the most out of people taking care of my business." The CD will feature guest appearances by Conny Nimmersjö (BOB HUND, THÅSTRÖM) and Mattias Petersson.
Holmsten recently released an EP entitled "All Blade No Handle". It can be ordered via her MySpace page.

Moa announced her departure from MELDRUM early last year, explaining that she "lost the fire, the dedication and the joy. My heart was not in it anymore. A heart, the only heart, I had to be honest to or I couldn't live with myself."
Moa's former MELDRUM bandmate and group leader, guitarist Michelle Meldrum, passed away on May 21, 2008 as a result of a cystic growth on her brain that had restricted oxygen and blood flow to her brain, rendering her braindead.
Michelle had just completed writing and recording MELDRUM's soon-to-be-released third album with drummer Gene Hoglan, along with the group's latest additions, Michele Madden (vocals) and Laura Christine (bass). The surviving bandmembers plan to release the CD in tribute to their fallen bandmate.
