Former MOTRHEAD Guitarist's LEADER OF DOWN To Perform At U.K. Fundraising Music Festival

LEADER OF DOWN, the new band of former MOTRHEAD guitarist Wrzel (real name: Michael Burston),will headline the main stage at a U.K. fundraising music festival in aid of Midlands Air Ambulance. Also scheduled to appear at "Never Mind The Bullocks" is a host of local bands and solo artists such as SOMEONE ELSE, NIKKI ROUS, KENOBI, RATTLESNAKE, REMODEL and THE GREENS.

All will take to the stage at the County Showground in Shrewsbury on Saturday, June 25, with all profits from ticket sales and profits from a raffle featuring at least three top-end Music Bros. guitars as prizes will go to the air ambulance.

Other acts include ARCADE PARADE, SCRIPTED YOUTH, BLUES BOY DAN and Andy O'Brien.

All have given their time and talent for free to support an event that promises to be a great family day out, showcasing some of the best local music while raising money for a fantastic cause.

Gates will open at midday with the first band due to hit the stage at 1 p.m., with the music and fun continuing throughout the afternoon and evening. There is also an outdoor acoustic stage.

Advance tickets costing just 5 are available from Music Bros. in Shrewsbury, which has sponsored the event, or entry will be 7.50 on the day.

Organizer Clive Beasley from Music Bros. thanked all those who had given up their time and support to ensure the event went ahead.

"The guys in LEADER OF DOWN have been fantastic and were really keen to take part when they heard about the event," he said.

"They're currently on tour in France but I'm reliably informed they're all really looking forward to taking part in our festival, as it's such a great cause.

"We've had some terrific support from local people and businesses, with guitars for the raffle donated from Fender, Ibanez and Tanglewood. Raffle tickets will be for sale both on the gate and in advance from the shop.

"The crowd may even be treated to BBC Radio Shropshire's very own undiscovered funkster Jim Hawkins, who we've invited to dust off his Stratocaster and get up on stage for a couple of numbers.

"As well as raising money for a great cause, 'Never Mind The Bullocks' is a chance for people to hear just what fantastic bands and solo artists we have here in Shropshire."

Ingrid Hall, who has organized the event with Clive, added that there will also be a bar and food vans there on the day, along with outdoor acoustic acts and entertainment.

The bar will operate a strict ID policy for those who look under 25, as will security at the gate for anyone bringing their own alcohol.
