Former MTV 'Headbanger's Ball' VJ Returns As Host Of KLSX's 'The Ball'

February 13, 2003

Former MTV's "Headbanger's Ball" VJ Riki Rachtman has resurfaced as the host of "The Ball", a two-hour hard rock/heavy metal radio program airing every Saturday night on 97.1 KLSX. "If its loud and it may cause a riot, I'll play it," says Rachtman about the show's format

"Unlike MTV's 'Headbangers Ball', I WILL PICK THE MUSIC with the help from you [the listeners]," Riki added. "[Write me at] [email protected] [and] let me know what you do and do not want. Some old, some new. Ya wanna hear something, you tell me. We may blow out some of that old hair stuff and then follow up with that hardcore sh*t. Guests, requests, it's a disasterpiece in the works.

"I have been told by many 'radio experts' that rock is dead and if the band doesn't have a DJ or some good-lookin' kids as members. Forget about it. LET'S PROVE THEM WRONG. SPREAD THE WORD. Write letters, post on Internet boards. Let them all know: 'The Ball' is back and KLSX has got it."
