Former MUNDANE Members Play For DALAI LAMA

November 19, 2007

Portuguese brothers Victor and Alex Rebelo — both former members of the Canadian metal band MUNDANE — recently joined forces with Amchok Gompo from Tibet to form a new band which mixes Amchok's operatic vocal style with the the Rebelos' "soundtrackish" productions. Their group's first show was opening for the Dalai Lama in front of 18,000 people at the Skydome in Toronto, Canada. They have also been offered the main stage at next years Montreal Jazz Festival as well as the Ottawa Jazz Festival. In addition, they are currently working on tracks that will be part of an upcoming album.

MUNDANE released two albums — "Seed" and "Feeding on a Lower Spine" — during the 1990s, toured Canada a few times and had a European record deal with Black Mark. Victor also helped out MONSTER VOODOO MACHINE at Ozzfest 1998 and has been on stage with SEPULTURA and SOULFLY on many occassions. Victor and Alex also performed on Nelly Furtado's first album.
