Former NEUROTICA Guitarist Launches WORLD COLLISION

August 29, 2008

Former NEUROTICA and current PYROCLASTIC guitarist Shawn Bowen has launched a new project called WORLD COLLISION. Shawn says, "PYROCLASTIC is taking a break from writing to allow Kelly [Shaefer, PYROCLASTIC frontman] to focus on the new ATHEIST album, which is sure to be amazing!"

He continues, "I was fortunate enough to have moved here [to Florida] in 1989 right before 'Piece of Time' [ATHEIST's debut] came out and they were some of the first friends I made here. My band at the time opened for ATHEIST a handful of times in the early days with Roger [Patterson, late ATHEIST bassist], and I've watched them through all the tough times and lineup changes, and I know this new album is going to crush! Steve Flynn's [ATHEIST drummer] still at the top of his game, and with the maturity level they are at now, I am really excited to hear new songs from those dudes!! In the meantime, I am focusing on my new project, WORLD COLLISION. It's extremely psychedelic and tribal, and I now have a live lineup which even includes G.J. Gosman (drummer from NEUROTICA and PYROCLASTIC) on drums and percussion, and am looking forward to doing some shows before the year is up."
