Former NOTHINGFACE Members Launch New Projects
February 14, 2004Former NOTHINGFACE guitarist Tom Maxwell and drummer Tommy Sickles have announced the formation of COLDWHITECHRIST with bassist Jerry Montano (DEADLIGHTS, DANZIG).
Tom Maxwell explains, "After Ozzfest, Tommy and I decided to start a project with our longtime friends Jerry and Chad Gray (MUDVAYNE). We began recording demos with Drew Mazurek (LINKIN PARK, GWAR, NOTHINGFACE),and cataloging between 15 to 20 songs in about a four-month period, with our intention being to create some of the most brutally heavy, physically exhausting and emotionally turbulent music we could.
"So when we (NOTHINGFACE) were FINALLY out of our deal with TVT, Sickles and me decided that COLDWHITECHRIST was were we truly wanted to be. This new music represents everything we live and believe in…. absolute honesty and dedication to our roots! Unfortunately with Chad's obligations with MUDVAYNE, our search for the ultimate front man/singer is officially now underway.
"I really would love to find the birth child of Maynard James Keynan and Phil Anselmo. Someone with an original vision that can not only can belt out the harshest screams but can also sing the most amazing melodies over the heaviest music we've ever written. Once our last ingredient is in place something very dangerous will have been born.
"We can not wait until the world experiences COLDWHITECHRIST sonically and visually”
All vocal audition demos should be sent to COLDWHITECHRIST management at:

In related news, former NOTHINGFACE bassist Bill Gaal has issued a statement announcing the formation of his new project, PERFECT ENEMY, which also features ex-NOTHINGFACE vocalist Matt Holt. Gaal's statement reads as follows:
"After spending the last six months writing music for my side project PERFECT ENEMY, it became obvious that these songs were going to be extremely different than what I had been writing previously in NOTHINGFACE. These songs were exploring a more melodic and complex side of my writing that may not have been appropriate for a NOTHINGFACE album and I found that my roots in bands like JAWBOX and SHUDDER TO THINK were beginning to come to the surface of my writing. It was probably some of the most honest and exciting music I had ever written! I sent these new songs to Matt and he immediately got it. We have always shared a love for the old Washington D.C. music scene and the idea of finishing off these songs together was really exciting for both of us.
"Matt and I are in the process of putting together the last few members of PERFECT ENEMY as I write this. Fans should expect a band that is musically very diverse, melodic and heavy. I will be playing guitar and singing, Mattwill be singing and playing some guitar, with another guitar player, bass player and drummer to be announced soon.
"We can't wait to get this project out to you guys, see you soon."
