Former OMNIUM GATHERUM Frontman Says He Was Kicked Out
May 6, 2006Former OMNIUM GATHERUM vocalist Antti Filppu has sent the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding his departure from the group
"Nothing dramatic, just wanted to correct an error concerning my departure from OMNIUM GATHERUM. I did not leave the band. They wanted to continue without me, and there were no negotiations about it. Nobody asked me, they simply told me I'm out. Even though this is perfectly fine, I saw no crisis with the OMNIUM GATHERUM future like the other members saw, I would have been very glad to be a part of it."
OMNIUM GATHERUM are currently writing and demoing material for their new album, tentatively due late 2006/early 2007 via an as-yet-undetermined label. The band, who were previously signed to Nuclear Blast Records, recorded a five-song pre-production demo at Woodbine Garden studio in Pyhtää, Finland in January containing the tracks "City Red Light", "Remember The Frozen", "Neither Dead Nor Alive", "My Hands Were Tied" and "Das Wegrecht".
OMNIUM GATHERUM's latest album "Years in Waste", was released in the U.S. in March 2005 via Nuclear Blast.
