Former ONE MINUTE SILENCE Guitarist Joins PINK PUNK For Live Shows

August 20, 2009

PINK PUNK, the electronica/rock/hip-hop project fronted by vocalist Brian "Yap" Barry (ONE MINUTE SILENCE) and Donna Williams and produced by John Hendicott, will hit the road towards the end of this year. The live band will include guitarist Massimo "Massy" Fiocco (ONE MINUTE SILENCE, MASSY),drummer Wyn, DJ Taki 183, performance poet Mokcha and guest vocals from highly acclaimed rapper and poet Kate Tempest.

The upcoming shows will mark the first time Yap and Massy have performed together since the breakup of ONE MINUTE SILENCE, which was once voted the "Best British Live Act" in Kerrang! magazine.

Massy brings heavy guitar rawness to PINK PUNK's mix of eclectic breaks, deep atmosphere and evocative vocals.

PINK PUNK is currently reworking tracks from its two albums, creating a multi-level experience of metal brutality, dance euphoria and topical poetry against a backdrop of visuals further pushing the band's style fusing boundaries.

Commented Yap: "The PINK PUNK live show will be documentary-meets-band-meets-circus. Mixing up metal raucousness for the pit crew, dance grooves, hip-hop and slam poetry, the show will be a multi platform, multimedia experience."

He continued, "I'm delighted Massy's involved in the project. He brings a raw energy to the live band and I'm very excited to be hitting the stage with him again."

Added Massy: "I love how original PINK PUNK is. There's a powerful message being spread with Yap's lyrics and I think John Hendicott is an amazing musician and producer. I'm excited about what's gonna be created when I start to write with them. I feel the live shows will be something really special!"

PINK PUNK's second album, "Zombie God Delicious", was released on July 1 and received outstanding reviews. The new single, "Rockstars", will be issued on 28 September via Freeport Records/Universal Digital, and features guest vocals from Kate Tempest.
