Former PAIN OF SALVATION Bassist Comments On His Departure

March 6, 2006

Former PAIN OF SALVATION bassist Kristoffer Gildenlöw (younger brother of PAIN OF SALVATION frontman Daniel Gildenlöw) has issued a statement regarding his departure from the band. It reads as follows:

"It is with big sadness that I have to walk away from one of the greatest bands I've ever come in contact with.

"I wish the situation was different, I wish there was another solution but the show must go on and this is the crossroad.

"After more than eleven years as a member, I pretty much lived my life around the band and it's going to feel very empty without it.

"I want to take this moment to thank all the fans out there. Thank you for your passion, thank you for your support and thank you for staying with us for all this time. I wish I had met more of you, I wish I could have played for more of you."

As previously reported, PAIN OF SALVATION have set "Scarsick" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in late 2006/early 2007. The group's most recent studio album, "BE", came out in 2004.
