Former PYRO Singer Launches OPIUM TEA Project

August 14, 2007

Former PYRO vocalist Stephane Collin is currently writing material for his solo project OPIUM TEA.

Commented Collin: "I left PYRO just a couple of weeks ago, but I've been writing songs for several months. This new project is not really a new band, it's rather a solo project. I'll be the only permanent member of this 'band'; the other guys are friends and/or musicians with whom I have always wanted to work."

On the topic of PYRO's last CD, "Stab in the Back", Collin said, "It was very poorly produced. It's the worst-sounding recording I appear on. The guitars and my vocals hadn't been properly recorded. I can hardly recognize my own voice on this album! To be perfectly honnest, I think it shouldn't have been released unless we re-recorded it entirely."

OPIUM TEA will begin playing out as soon as possible, possibly as early as the fall. The group will perform new material as well as songs that Stephane Collin wrote with PYRO and SENDSIRK.
