Former SHINEDOWN Guitarist Not Joining SOIL
June 26, 2008Chicago heavy rockers SOIL have issued the following update:
"As you may have seen or heard, there has been some recent gossip and posts that Jasin Todd (formerly of SHINEDOWN) has joined SOIL as a second guitarist.
"These rumors are NOT TRUE.
"Jasin is a very dear friend of ours and an awesome guitar player, but (as we previously stated) SOIL plans to remain a four-piece band with AJ [Cavalier, vocals] filling in on some live guitar duties. This proved to be a great formula on our headline tour this past March.
"We do still however, have some very exciting news coming up that we will announce in the coming weeks so as we said before: STAY TUNED!!"
SOIL recently inked a deal with Driven Music Group the Phoenix, Arizona-based music label and entertainment company created by Brian "Head" Welch, a founding member, songwriter and guitarist from the multi-platinum rock band KORN for the release of its next studio album, tentatively due in early 2009.
Upcoming SOIL shows:
June 29 - The Chance - Poughkeepsie, NY
July 01 - Starland Ballroom - Sayreville, NJ (w/ TYPE O NEGATIVE)
July 02 - Trocadero - Philadelphia, PA (w/ TYPE O NEGATIVE)
July 03 - House Of Blues - Cleveland, OH (w/ TYPE O NEGATIVE)
July 05 - The Norva - Norfolk, VA (w/ TYPE O NEGATIVE)
SOIL's latest CD, "True Self", was released in May 2006 via DRT Entertainment. The follow-up to 2004's "Redefine" was recorded and mixed at Bomb Shelter studios in Los Angeles, California with producer Ulrich Wild (STATIC-X, TAPROOT).
