Former SKYCLAD Frontman Comments On ELVENKING Collaboration

March 14, 2002

Former SKYCLAD and current RETURN TO THE SABBAT frontman Martin Walkyier has commented on his upcoming collaboration with the Italian pagan metal act ELVENKING, which will include his onstage appearance with the group at the Metal.it — A Night of Glory festival at ThunderRoad in Codevilla on March 24th. According to Walkyier, “throughout the fifteen years that I have been fortunate enough to spend within the Heavy Metal industry, it has seldom been my absolute honor to listen to a cover version as perfect and sincere as the one my friends in the Italian band ELVENKING did of the SKYCLAD track 'Penny Dreadful'. It is for this very reason that I shall be traveling to see them next week to discuss our collaboration upon future projects. I will be appearing live with them at the Italian Metal. It Festival on Sunday March the 24th, where I will undoubtedly get up on stage to perform a couple of your favorite SKYCLAD numbers together with this truly excellent band…As you are well aware, my numerous reasons for being forced to leave SKYCLAD are something that I personally consider to be 'unfinished business' I will therefore leave it up to your individual imaginations as to just how far this collaboration could be taken should it prove to be a success.”
