Former SLAVES ON DOPE Singer Resurfaces In STEP 13
June 17, 2008Former SLAVES ON DOPE vocalist Jason Rockman has resurfaced in a new band called STEP 13. The group, whose music is described by Rockman as "no-holds-barred brutal metal for sober motherfuckers," will release its initial recordings through a MySpace page, and tracks will be made available monthly absolutely free of charge. Jason says, "Any fans of [SLAVES ON DOPE's] 'Inches from the Mainline' record [2000] will love this stuff."
SLAVES ON DOPE's "Inches from the Mainline" album was released through Ozzy Osbourne's now-defunct Divine Recordings label. After Divine Recordings lost its distribution deal with EMI's Priority Records, the band was left without a label. After a long search, a deal was struck with Bieler Bros. Records. SLAVES ON DOPE's second major album, "Metafour", was released in 2003.
In March 2004, SLAVES ON DOPE announced it was going on hiatus due to Jason Rockman leaving the band.
