Former THE IRON MAIDENS Singer Collaborating With MOTÖRHEAD's PHIL CAMPBELL

July 3, 2008

Lead vocalist Aja Kim has announced her departure from the Los Angeles-based "world's only female tribute to IRON MAIDEN," THE IRON MAIDENS, to pursue her solo career.

"It is with both deep regret and a sense of heady excitement that I announce my departure from THE IRON MAIDENS," she says in a statement. "I have loved performing and sharing this music with my fellow MAIDEN fans and I will miss the joy of singing the music of IRON MAIDEN, which has inspired me on so many levels and in so many ways. But the muse is calling and the time has come for me to resume my solo and writing career with the focus and energy that I have given to band and the role of Bruce 'Lee' Chickinson. It's been an incredible experience to be a part of this band and I wish THE IRON MAIDENS all the best in the future — never surrender!"

In addition to working on original songs for a future solo release, Aja Kim is currently co-writing original material with MOTÖRHEAD guitarist Phil Campbell.

Phil Campbell makes a guest appearance on THE IRON MAIDENS' latest CD/DVD combo, "Route 666". This Japanese import includes four new studio tracks plus a live DVD with multi-camera footage. It was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Bob Kulick.
