Former THE REJECTS Frontman Resurfaces In BOMB POP MAFIA

October 2, 2002

BOMB POP MAFIA, the new group fronted by former THE REJECTS (pre-MURDERDOLLS) singer Dizzy Draztik, recently spent time recording material for a possible EP or full-length LP release later in the year. The band, which also includes guitarist Gizmo and bassist Zarrie (a second guitarist and drummer will be announced soon),"are going to demo up a couple songs in rough, and let me reiterate that, ROUGH form in the coming days," said Draztik. "The EP may be turning into an album and with some of the things were working on, might not see a full worldwide release until late this year. But don't fret, there will be some form of recorded material, be it an EP or single in advance of the album, hopefully within a month or so. Some of the songs we're working on include 'Refuse to Rot', 'Who Killed Hollywood', '13 Reasons to Die', 'Better off Dead', 'Her Dirty Needles', 'Kiss My Fist', and some others. The music is still rough and ready rock and roll with obvious punk rawk overtones and now a darker more eerie edge. I've been listening to A LOT of old school shit like TSOL, SISTERS OF MERCY, 45 GRAVE, THE CURE and its rubbing off on me, but don't think we're going goth, 'cuz we're not. But imagine a heavy pissed-off MISFITS-CURE-MOTLEY-AFI-KISS-Satan thing going on. It's a lot like what you have come to know (and hopefully like me/us for) in the past but with a new pissed-off dark edge. I am thoroughly confident that [everyone] will all shit [their] pants when [they] hear this material."
