Former UNSANCTIFIED Vocalist Joins ARCTIC WINDS

April 9, 2007

Longtime underground vocalist Don Marhefka (UNSANCTIFIED, BURIAL, EVILUTION) has joined the Los Angeles-based death/thrash metal act ARCTIC WINDS.

Commented Marhefka: "The new [ARCTIC WINDS] record is almost complete. Unfortunatly I am NOT on the new record. The old singer quit the band the day before recording, so Dragonis on drums actually did the vocals, and it sounds great! Also the guys in the band are all cool people and sometimes that means more to me than just making killer music. You have to have good chemistry, especially if you want it to last."

Regarding the band's musical direction, Marhefka said, "The ARCTIC WINDS stuff is a little different than the stuff I have been doing with my previous bands. It has a lot of great melodies and hooks and it's got some really cool melodic and the heavy riffs as well. It's music that makes you want to move. I have also been experimenting with real singing, and I want to add those vibes and parts to the songs as well even in the final product. It's definitly a lot different than what any other band is doing right now, so hopefully it hits home for the fans as well."
