Former VENOM Members Reunite In DRYLL
October 26, 2009Former VENOM drummer Antony "Antton" Lant and ex-DEF CON ONE bassist Craig Elliott have joined DRYLL, the U.K.-based band featuring former VENOM guitarist and founding member Jeff "Mantas" Dunn.
Antton and Craig had previously played with DRYLL as special guests at last month's Jeff Fest at Trillians Rock Bar, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England. The charity-based event was held in memory of well-known and loved Newcastle rock DJ Little Jeff who made a big impact on the rock scene at the likes of the world famous Newcastle Mayfair club which used to play host to the likes of IRON MAIDEN, MOTÖRHEAD and METALLICA, to name but a few.
This was the first time Mantas and Antton played live together for almost 10 years since touring VENOM's "Resurrection" album.
Commented Antton: "I had a blast playing the DRYLL songs so much that when the guys asked me to join the band, I had to say yes."
Video footage of DRYLL — featuring Antony "Antton" Lant on drums — performing the VENOM classic "Black Metal" at the Trillians gig can be viewed below.
The new DRYLL lineup, which can be seen in the picture below, will make its official live debut on Friday, November 6 at the 02 Academy, Newcastle as the support act for VENDETTA.
Antton — who is the brother of VENOM frontman Conrad "Cronos" Lant — left VENOM in April in order to concentrate on his own band, DEF-CON-ONE.
