Former VILE SCAR Vocalist Becomes 'Idol' Finalist

September 21, 2006

Swedish metal vocalist Jonas Snäckmark — who earlier in the year left the left the "terror death thrash" band VILE SCAR — today (Thursday, Sept. 21) became one of 12 contestants in the final of TV4's hit show "Idol", Sweden's "American Idol" equivalent.

"I'm probably gonna have bottles thrown at me when I return home," the 20-year-old joked to Expressen after performing in front of more than a million TV viewers.

Snäckmark's current favorite song is DRAGONFORCE's "Through the Fire and Flames", but it was his passionate performance of U2's hit song "One" that took him to the final. For the next couple of months, Swedish TV viewers will be able to follow Snäckmark's quest to become the country's next "Idol".
